Frequently asked questions

How do I add a mountain summit?

Tap the + button in the Summits tab. Add the name, altitude, date and a photo. Your location is automatically determined if you've enabled location access. You can also record your feeling (epic, proud, grateful, etc.).

How does the altimeter work?

PeakMoment uses your iPhone's barometric sensor to measure your relative altitude. Go to the Altitude tab to see your current altitude in real time. Accuracy depends on weather conditions and your device.

Can I view my summits on a map?

Yes! In the Map tab you can see all your conquered summits as pins on an interactive map. Tap a pin to view the details of that summit.

Does PeakMoment sync between my Apple devices?

Yes. PeakMoment uses iCloud (CloudKit) to automatically sync your summits. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices and have iCloud enabled for PeakMoment.

How do I share a summit?

Open a summit and tap the share button. PeakMoment creates a beautiful share card with the name, altitude, photo and location of your climb that you can share via social media, WhatsApp or iMessage.

What feelings can I record?

You can choose from five feelings: Epic, Proud, Grateful, Exhausted and Peaceful. Each feeling is displayed with its own emoji next to your summit.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete the PeakMoment app from your device and disable PeakMoment in your iCloud settings. This permanently deletes all stored summits.
